HP Tuners · Licensing System
Universal VIN Credits
HP Tuners uses a credit-based licensing system. Credits are the currency used to purchase licenses for the different modules in a vehicle — ECM, TCM, FICM, CCM, and more. Licensing a module gives you the ability to read, edit, and write calibration files to that specific vehicle.
How It Works
The Credit System Explained
Credits Buy Licenses
Credits are used as currency to license the individual control modules in a vehicle. Most vehicles require 2 credits to license the ECM/PCM, with additional credits for TCM, FICM, or CCM modules depending on the vehicle.
Licenses are Permanent
Vehicle licenses are tied to the VIN, PCM OS, and PCM Serial Number. As long as those values don't change, the vehicle stays licensed on your interface and can be tuned indefinitely — no recurring fees.
One Interface, All Vehicles
A single MPVI4 interface can store thousands of licenses and tune any supported vehicle. Read, edit, and save files at any time without spending credits — credits are only spent when writing to a new vehicle for the first time.
Activation
Pay As You Go — Setup Steps
After purchasing, activate your credits on your MPVI4 by following these steps:
Download VCM Suite
Download and install the latest version of VCM Suite from the HP Tuners website. Ensure your installation is up to date before proceeding.
Connect Your MPVI4
Connect your MPVI4 interface to your laptop or PC via USB. Make sure the device is recognized before launching VCM Suite.
Resync Your Interface
With your MPVI4 connected and an active internet connection open VCM Editor and select Help › Resync Interface. This syncs your credits and updates your interface firmware to the latest version.
All Digital Sales Are Final
HP Tuners credits are a digital product. Under no circumstances can a refund be issued once credits have been purchased. Please verify the number of credits required for your vehicle on the HP Tuners supported vehicles page before completing your purchase.
