For trans brake applications where this is used as a transmission controller, the 4 output channel is used to control the trans brake solenoid, where channels 1-3 can be used to control the shifter, your dump solenoid circuit(s) as well as torque converter lockup.  On nitrous applications you can use all 4 channels for solenoid control with the ability to PWM at any frequency you want, and you can even turn them on/off/on down track to get around a slippery spot or a bump that you dont need to go over at full power.  Each channel has the ability to be activated "pre-launch" meaning while the system is receiving an arm signal but you're on the trans brake button you can be firing a small solenoid at 20% duty cycle, set a ramp to begin at 50% once you're off the button and under way, ramping to 100% by 1 second to set the tire/chassis then turn it off down track wherever you want, perfect for guys wanting to run a specific number.
See additional images for the connector diagram that comes from Davis technologies but here's how we typically hook them up:
P1 Large Connector (14/16ga wire)

  1. BLUE OUTPUT #1 20AMP (+)
  2. CHASSIS/BATTERY GROUND (-)
  3. CHASSIS/BATTERY GROUND (-)
  4. GREEN OUTPUT #2 20AMP (+)
  5. YELLOW OUTPUT #3 20AMP (+)
  6. BATTERY POSITIVE (+) (If this goes on a switched circuit each leg needs to have a 40A fuse/relay)
  7. BATTERY POSITIVE (+) (If this goes on a switched circuit each leg needs to have a 40A fuse/relay)
  8. ORANGE OUTPUT #4 20AMP (+)

P2 Small Connector (20 ga wire)

  1. CHASSIS/BATTERY GROUND (-)
  2. CAN LOW (normally unused)
  3. CAN HI (normally unused)
  4. TRANS BRAKE BUTTON - wire other side of trans brake button to steady (+ or -)
  5. TPS/ARM - most often tapped into the rising sweep (+) side of your TPS circuit, but ECM outputs, hobbs switches on boost, all sorts of things can be used here. This input can be (+ or -)
  6. BUMP/CREEP BUTTON - wire other side of trans brake button to steady (+ or -)
  7. RPM (normally unused)
